In late summer the main Timmendorfer beach hosts the finals of the annual German beach volleyball championships. Surrounded by beautiful people, and 50,000 visitors, this is pure party atmosphere! There are nets and courts for digging, scooping and spiking on the sport & games beach next to the Maritime Pier, at the Haus des Kurgastes in Niendorf and at the free beach.

Join-in sports

We offer you the opportunity to join in various training sessions and lessons free of charge at our local sports club NTSV Strand 08 e.V. Very popular in the summer months is the weekly sport badge awards (every Wednesday at 18:30 at the Timmendorfer Strand sports grounds, Poststrasse 36).

Licensed trainers are on hand from 28 May to 24 September to examine participants for their sport achievement badges. If you are not able to complete all the disciplines during your holiday, you can do so at your local sports club.
